Kochi: Kerala Congress (Secular), a faction loyal to former Chief Whip P C George, has been revamped after a gap of 6 years over a feud with the Kerala Congress (M) chief K M Mani.

Announcing the revamping of the party at a press conference here on Saturday, senior leader T S John said that they will remain with the UDF until the next Assembly elections.

John has been named the chairman of the party. The state committee office of the party will soon be opened in Kottayam. The party already has offices in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha districts. The offices will be opened in other districts within ten days.

“The party has accept fight against corruption as its main agenda. Since an FIR has been registered in the bar bribe case, K M Mani has the moral responsibility to step down as the Finance Minister of the state. P C George was ousted from party posts for saying it loud,” John said.

Alleging authoritarianism in the Kerala Congress (M), John said all that is happening in the party now is K M Mani’s dictatorship. “Thomas Unniyadan was named the Chief Whip without consulting the other party men. There should be an investigation into the corruption charges against Jose K Mani. Mani and his son have been cheating the rubber farmers,” he said.
