Thiruvananthapuram: In a significant political move, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has decided to do away with the State secretariat of the party.
A decision in this regard was taken through a voting in the party state council held today.
The motion to scuttle the secretariat was presented by CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran and C.N. Jayadevan.
The state secretariat of the CPI was a platform where the party took urgent decisions including policy matters. Now, the state executive has to be convened to take such significant decisions.
