Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister K M Mani Monday dismissed media reports that he and the Finance Department were not in favour of using the services of Metro man E Sreedharan for constructing the Mass Rapid Transit Systems in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.
"Nothing could be farther from the truth," an official release said here.
The Finance Minister personally believes that for the smooth implementation of these projects, the constant advice of Sreedharan was needed for Kerala.
The Finance Minister welcomes the support of Sreedharan in implementing these vital projects in the state, the release said.
An impression has been sought to be made that the Finance Department has objected to the two MRTS projects for Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode and "This is not true at all," the release said.
In fact, Finance Department has suggested that the civil works of the projects can be started immediately without any delay.
Finance Department has merely suggested some practical modifications and changes that will in its view, prove to be the most financially beneficial to the state in the long run, the release said.
