Bengaluru: All the 17 accused, including four Keralites, in the Hubli blast case were acquitted by a court on Thursday.

Those acquitted by the Hubli sessions court include Shibili of Erattupetta, his brother Shaduli, Yahya Kammukutty of Mukkam and Ansar Nadwi of Aluva.

They were acquitted by the court after spending seven years in various jails in Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat as undertrial prisoners in the case.

Yahya, who hails from Mukkam in Kozhikode, was picked up from Bangalore while Ansar Nadwi, Shibili and Shaduli were arrested from Indore in 2008.

The blast took place in the JMFC (First Court) in Hubli on May 10, 2008.
