Thiruvananthapuram: State Governor and Chancellor Justice (retired) P Sathasivam Wednesday stressed the need for improving transparency in the conduct of examinations, especially in self-financing institutions.

Addressing the first meeting of the Chancellor's Council here today, he directed that CCTV cameras be installed in examination centres without further loss of time and directed the Vice-Chancellors to closely monitor the progress.

He reviewed programmes connected with skill upgradation and steps taken for implementing Credit framework for skills and education under National Skills Qualification Framework and choice based credit system guidelines issued by UGC.

He also emphasised the need for publication of the academic timetable for 2015-16 and the mechanism built in the process to correct deviations from the announced schedule.
