Kottayam: The incumbent Chief Whip of the UDF government P C George on Monday said that he won’t quit the post unless he is permitted to refloat his original party, Kerala Congress (Secular), within the UDF.
“I won’t step down from the Chief Whip’s post if my demands are not accepted. I should be protected from the Anti-Defection Act, along with other legislatures. If they want, they can ouster me from the UDF,” George said in a TV interview.
“If K M Mani has anything to tell me, he should do it directly. He does not have the authority to demand my expulsion from the UDF,” he said.
George added that he would not move out of the UDF as he won the election contesting as a UDF candidate.
Meanwhile, the UDF is likely to take a final call on the demand of K M Mani for the expulsion of George as the Chief Whip.
