Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Congress (M) vice chairman P C George has written a letter to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy accusing his party supremo K M Mani and his son Jose K Mani of involvement in solar scam and the latest bar bribe case that have been jolting the UDF government in the state.

In a ten-page letter sent to the Chief Minister on Wednesday, George said that Mani has a machine used to count currency notes at his home, as earlier accused by bar owner Biju Ramesh.

“Mani is in the clutches of over-affection towards his son. His recent political activism is all of making the other party men call his son ‘sir.’

“The representative of a corporate tyre company had given Jose K Mani Rs 10 crore at a star hotel in Ernakulum to prevent the party from protesting against declining rubber prices. I had informed K M Mani about it.

“Mani told me not to reveal it to anyone and assured that the money would be given back. Although he promised that the party would conduct protest marches against the low prices of rubber, so such protests took place. So I understood that Jose hadn’t given that money back,” George says in the latter.
