State Film Awards 2014: Nivin, Nazriya, Sudhev get top honours

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Film Awards 2014 were declared on Monday.

Actress Nazriya Nazim bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in Om Shanti Oshana and Bangalore Days while the performance in Bangalore Days and 1983 helped actor Nivin Pauly bag Best Actor award. He shared the top honour with Sudhev Nair of My Life Partner.

The Best Character Actor Award went to Anoop Menon, for the film1983 and Bangalore Days and actress Sethulakshmi for How Old Are You?.

Ottal got the Best Film Award while Om Shanti Oshana got the Best Popular Movie Award.

Best Director: Sanal Kumar Sasidharan (Oral Pokkam)
Best Debutante Director: Abrid Shine (1983)
Best Story: Siddharth Siva (Ain)

Best Music Director: Ramesh Narayan
Best Singer (Male): Yesudas
Best Singer (Female): Shreya Ghoshal

Best Background Score: Bijibal

Best Lyrics: OS Unnikrishnan (Lasagu)

Best Screenplay: Anjali Menon (Bangalore Days)
Best Adaption Screenplay: Ranjith (Njan)

Best Child Artist (Male): Master Adwaith (Anguram)

Best Child Artist (Female): Baby Fathima (Randu Penkuttikal)
Best Cinematography: Amal Neerad (Iyobinte Pusthakam)
Best Editor: Lijo Paul

Special Jury Award: Prathap Pothen And Indrans

Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, the minister of state for Cinema, announced the winners at a press conference here.

This year, as many as 73 Malayalam films were listed among the state award nominations.
