Idukki/Palakkad/Palani: At least six persons were killed on Thursday in three road accidents in the State.

Two persons were killed and another injured when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Elappara in Idukki. The deceased were identified as Chandran and Vijayashree, both natives of Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram. Vijayashree’s son, Akhil, suffered injuries in the accident. They were on their way to Nedukandam after receiving the news about the demise of Vijayasree's mother.

Two persons were killed in a car-auto collision in Palakkad, in a separate incident. Shiva Murukan (43) and Thankaraj (38) died on the spot after a car rammed into the auto they were travelling in. The accident occurred around 11.30 pm on Wednesday.

In another incident, two Keralites were killed in a road accident near Palani in Tamil Nadu Thursday morning.

The victims have been identified as Malappuram native K.D. Joseph (40) and Shijo (35) of Poovapara. The accident happened when the auto taxi in which they were travelling collided with a private bus.
