Panakkad: The Muslim League on Friday said that a consensual decision was needed in the UDF on the matters related to the election to the local bodies.

After a high level meet held here on Friday, party leader P K Kunjalikutty said that the Muslim League would stand with the collective decision taken on the matter.

“There is a united decision needed on the matters related to the local body elections. The government is holding a talk with the UDF allies and the Election Commission officials on August 24. The Muslim League will stand with whatever decision is taken in that meeting. There is no uncertainty on that,” Kunjalikutty said.

He said that the Muslim League is of an opinion that the election should be held on scheduled time.
