Palakkad: In a freak accident, a bike rider who fell on the road and three others who tried to save him were killed after a lorry rammed into them on National Highway at Kanjikode on Tuesday night.
The deceased were Sasiprasad (40), an employee of Arya Vaidya Sala Kottakkal unit, Ramesh (39), Rajesh (35) and Prabhakaran who works at the Coimbatore Arya Vaidya Sala Pharmacy.
The mishap happened when Prabhakaran travelling on his bike lost control while trying to avoid hitting a stray dog and ran over it. The injured Prabhakaran, fell on the road, and was being helped by three others when a speeding lorry crashed into them. All the four died on the spot.
