Thrissur: Two persons were killed in a road accident at Vettikkal near Mannuthi here on Friday.
The accident reportedly occurred when the highway police on patrolling stopped a lorry for checking. A bike that diverted quickly to avoid a collision with the lorry was rammed by a KSRTC bus that came from the opposite direction.
As per reports, two persons who were travelling by the bike died on the spot.
Irate locals blamed the highway police for the accident and blocked the highway, creating tragic jam on the national highway 47 near Mannuthi.
