Kochi: Ernakulam District Collector M. C. Rajamanickam, in a Facebook post, has launched a scathing attack on the Kochi Corporation Council, saying they should address the vital issues that need to be solved immediately.

The district collector, in a post on his Facebook page, asked the Corporation Council to focus on vital problem being faced by the people like garbage menace, broken footpaths and illegal construction, instead of discussing silly matters.

“Kochi is all set to be one of the smart cities in the country. The city is reeling under the issues of garbage menace, broken footpaths and illegal construction. The smart city project is supposed to address these issues. Unfortunately, the council seems to be bothered more about silly matters like logos and taglines,” said Rajamanickam, an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 2008 batch.
