New Delhi: Days after a letter purportedly written him against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy triggered a row, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Saturday reached Delhi on a ‘personal visit.’
Talking to the media, Chennithala said he came for personal matters, not for political discussions.
“I have said in the KPCC meeting what I wanted to say about the letter-row. I am not going to make that public,” the Home Minister said.
Meanwhile, contrary to his reiteration that he had not written such a letter to the Congress leadership, the High Command on Friday confirmed receiving a letter from the former KPCC chief.
Chennithala is likely to discuss the matter with the party leadership although he refutes such reports.
As the content of the letter targeting Chandy for the poor performance of UDF in the recent civic polls triggered a row after it was reported in the media, an embarrassed Congress state unit on Friday asked the party-led UDF government to order a comprehensive probe into its source.
Chennithala had made it clear that he had not sent such a letter and was of the opinion that it was a concocted one.
