Kottayam DySP suspended over sexual harassment case

Kochi: Kottayam DySP T A Antony has been suspended from service in connection with an alleged sexual harassment case filed by a married woman.
Following a report from the Kottayam SP on the issue, the DGP had forwarded his recommendation to the Home Department to suspend the police official in this connection.
The 35-year-old married woman, a native of Chamampathal in Kottayam district lodged a complaint at the Kottayam East Police station on December 30 last that DySP Antony took her forcefully from Manarcaude bus stop, in Kottayam district to his quarters on December 27 and forcefully harassed her sexually.
Based on the complaint, the Kottayam SP after preliminary investigation forwarded his report to the DGP, who in turn recommended the Home Department to suspend him from service.
