Cabinet approves annual plan outlay worth Rs 27,686 crore

Thiruvananthapuram: The state cabinet has accorded sanction to the state’s annual plan outlay of Rs 27,686.32 crore for the year 2015-16 with the focus on infrastructure development.

State Minister for Planning K C Joseph told reporters here Tuesday that this was 16.66 per cent more than the plan outlay for the 2014-15 fiscal.
The share of local administration would be Rs 4,800 crore while an amount of Rs 1,350 crore has been earmarked for the Kerala State Electricity Board, he said.

An amount of Rs 2,000 crore has been reserved for Kochi Metro, Kannur Airport, suburban train corridor, State Capital development project, Vizhanjam Port and Thiruvananthapuram- Kozhikode Mass Rapid Transport system, he said.

Focus has been given to infrastructure development and also for taking up major projects, he said.
