New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Saturday announced that the National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) in Thiruvananthapuram would be made as a university.

This was announced by Jaitley during his presentation of the full-fledged budget of the NDA government.

However, there was no mention of AIIMS to be set up in Kerala this time too.

Presenting the union budget in parliament, Jaitley said AIIMS campuses would come up in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Assam. Bihar would get a second institute modelled on the lines of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
