Nadapuram violence: Rs. 25 lakh for Shibin's family

Kozhikode: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh will be paid to the kin of Shibin Bhaskaran, a DYFI activist, who was killed in the violence at Thooneri, near Nadapuram.

“A compensation of Rs. 25 lakh will be paid to the kin of Shibin Bhaskaran,” the Chief Minister said after an all-party meet held here Saturday.

A committee led by the district collector has also been formed to undertake the rehabilitation of the displaced families.

“An adalat will be conducted on February 15 to assess the losses suffered by the residents whose houses were destroyed. Strict action will be initiated against those who spread hatred on social media in the backdrop of the Thooneri incident,” he said.
