Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Congress (B) leader R.Balakrishna Pillai Tuesday has said he will make more revelations if he is expelled from the UDF over the recent controversy in connection with the bar bribery case.
"Let the UDF take action against me. I will be more happy if I am booted out. I feel I will be stronger if I am outside the UDF, than being an ally of the UDF. If I am booted out, I will be able to reveal more,” Pillai said while responding to reporters' queries on the issue.
In another development, UDF convener P P Thankachan had a brief discussion with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and said the UDF meeting would be convened soon.
In an embarrassment to the UDF government, Biju Ramesh, working president of Bar Hotel Owners' Association, Monday had released audio tapes where two senior politicians divulge incriminating details.
Ramesh released two audio clips to the media which contained conversations between him and government chief whip PC George and Kerala Congress (B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai.
Pillai, in the tape released by channels, was purportedly heard telling Ramesh that he should not desist from his allegation that Mani had demanded a hefty sum from bar owners for favourable decision, over which a Vigilance probe is on.
Responding to queries from media, Pillai said it was true that he had said these to Ramesh when he called him and that he had already told Chandy all these things about Mani.
Pillai, however, said it was Ramesh who called him and he should not have released the conversation to media, which amounted to "blackmailing".
