Kozhikode: A six-foot-long iron pipe was detected on the railway track at Kundayithode in Kozhikode on Sunday.
The object, which could have been a serious threat to the trains passing through track, was noticed by the loco pilot of a train that passed through adjoining track. He immediately intimated the railway authorities immediately, sources said.
It was a six-metre long iron pipe with a radius of six inches, they said.
The object was removed just before a long-distance express train was about to pass through the track.
A few months back, holes were found drilled on the track in the same area, raising security concerns, the sources said.
