Thiruvananthapuram: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala Monday has said in the Assembly that a judicial probe will be ordered into the alleged custodial death of a youth in Kottayam.
“A judicial probe will be ordered into the incident,” he said in a reply to the adjournment motion moved by LDF’s K. Radhakrishnan.
“There was lapse on the part of the police. It was wrong that the police didn’t conduct a medical test on him before he was taken into custody,” said Chennithala.
Following the minister’s reply, the Speaker rejected permission to move the adjournment motion.
