Textbook distribution to be completed Monday

Thiruvananthapuram: Education minister P K Abdu Rabb said that the distribution of school textbooks would be completed on Monday.

“The distribution of textbooks will be completed in all the government schools across the State today (Monday) itself. The District Educational Offices (DEO) in all the districts have received the books,” the minister said in his reply to a notion in the Assembly on Monday.

Even though the academic year began on June 1, more than 4 lakh students haven't received textbooks yet. The delay had sparked protests in various parts of the state.

The education department has been hitting the headlines of late for all the wrong reasons right from re-publishing the SSLC results to the delay in textbooks distribution.
