Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has informed the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Ernakulam that it cannot indict former Kerala Land Revenue Commissioner and IAS officer T O Sooraj in the Kalamassery land grab case.
The CBI on Monday submitted before the court that the IAS officer cannot be indicted in the case as there was no enough evidence against him.
The CBI, seeking permission to name Sooraj as witness the charge sheet, also said that the result of the narco-analysis test was also in favour of him.
The charge sheet will be filed within two weeks.
According to reports, the land grab took place during Sooraj's stint as the Land Revenue Commissioner.
The CBI had on June 3 arrested three revenue officials in connection with the Kalamassery land grab case, involving the relatives of Salim Raj, a former gunman of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
