New Delhi: A labour union of the State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has called for a one-day 'lightning strike' Friday, the SBI associate bank said.
"AIBOC in Kerala has called for a 1-day Lightning Strike on June 12, 2015," State Bank of Travancore told stock exchanges.
A lightning strike generally refers to a form of protest in which employees stop working for a short period of time without giving any prior warning to the employer.
"In the event of the strike taking place, the business of the bank will get affected," SBT added.
The All India Bank Officers' Confederation (AIBOC) is an apex trade union body of supervisory cadre employees.
The bank, however, did not disclose any reason for the strike call given by AIBOC.
The stock was trading lower by 2.02% at Rs 412.25 on BSE.
