Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Friday came down heavily on CPI(M) politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan, questioning the timing of his deposal before the solar commission.
“If he had evidences against me, why did he run away at that time? Why he couldn’t appear before the solar commission earlier?” asked Chandy.
“The CCTV camera at the Chief Minister’s office was installed during the tenure of the previous government. It is usual that the data collected in it will be deleted after one month,” he reacted to reporters’ queries.
“The probe into the land-grab case involved by Salim Raj is moving in the right direction. Salim Raj’s arrest will not make any influence in the Aruvikkara by-poll,” he added.
Former CPI(M) state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday had deposed before the Justice G Sivarajan Judicial Commission probing the solar scam that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was favouring his former gunman Salim Raj.
