Kottayam DTO suspended for raising staff shortage issue

Kottayam: District Transport Officer (DTO) in Kottayam was suspended from the service for reportedly raising the staff shortage issue in the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) during his speech at a public function.

George Thomas was suspended on charges of violation of discipline and dereliction of duty.

While delivering his speech in front of Finance Minister K M Mani at the public function, he reportedly had complained of staff shortage in the KSRTC.

Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, however, said there were other complaints that too led to the action against him.
