New Delhi: Slamming the BJP-led Central government’s decision to observe the Yoga Day on June 21, IUML national secretary E.T Muhammed Basheer Monday said they were trying to implement their communal agenda in the field of education.
“It is part of their move to implement communal agenda in the field of education,” Basheer told reporters.
“The Central government is trying to push the religious overtones in all the fields. Such move poses threat not just to a particular religion, but to the concept of Indian secularism,” he said.
On Sunday, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had decided to launch a nationwide campaign against making 'Surya Namaskar' and Yoga compulsory in schools.
