Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF Sunday observed as the black day, in protest against the attacks on its party offices and legislators.

KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran told reporters yesterday that protest marches and public meetings would be held in all constituencies.

The Kerala Assembly witnessed unruly scenes on Friday as members of the Left opposition broke the speaker's chair and the electronic equipment to register their protest against Mani presenting the budget.

Reacting to the incidents in the Assembly on Friday, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had said it had cast a slur on the whole State.

On Saturday, the Left Democratic Front (LDF)-sponsored dawn-to-dusk hartal was total and marked by stray incidents of violence.
