Sivadasan Nair refutes Jameela Prakasam’s allegations, says she is like sister to him

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress legislator K Sivadasan Nair on Thursday refuted the allegations of Jameela Prakasam, a legislator of the Opposition LDF, that he attacked her modesty during the protests in the Assembly during the budget presentation.

Talking at a press conference here, Nair said the LDF woman MLA’s allegations were totally false and politically motivated.

“I know Jameela Prakasam since her student-age. She has been my colleague in the Assembly for the last four years. I have considered her as a friend and a sister,” he said adding a person should be rational enough to recognize his or her brother and friends.

He had alleged Prakasam of biting him during the chaos and clashes inside the Assembly on March 13. “I didn’t lose my cool even after she bit me. What I did was to inform the Speaker and get a medical check up.”

Using the video footages of the Assembly ruckus, Nair also countered the claims of Prakasam that she was not trying to attack the Chief Minister.

The LDF MLA had earlier accused Sivadasan Nair of attacking her modesty during the protests. She also said he deserved the bite.

"The MLA had twisted my arm from the back. His other arm came resting on my waist. I was falling behind and I could feel a knee kick me at my back. I turned back to see it was Sivadasan. I warned him to leave me or else I would bite him. He challenged me to do so and that's when I bit him. I had not even touched the Chief Minister," she had said.
