Thiruvananthapuram: The state DGP has received a legal advice from the district government pleader to register cases against Minister Shibu Baby John, Congress MLA M.A. Vahid and Kozhikode District Congress Committee president K.C. Abu on a complaint filed by Bijimol, MLA.

The Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner has been entrusted to conduct a probe into her complaint.

E.S. Bijimol, MLA, yesterday filed a complaint with the State Police Chief against them for making defamatory public statements against her in connection with the incidents in the Assembly on the day the budget was presented.

She had sought to register a case of sexual harassment against Labour Minister Shibu Baby John. Bijimol said she had felt that the Minister had blocked her physically as part of an agitation, but Abu’s comments had given a different connotation to the incident.

She insisted that cases be registered against the Congress leaders under Sections 354 A (IV) and 509 of the Indian Penal Code.
