Kozhikode: CPI-M Politburo member S Ramachandran Pillai said on Friday that the party Central Committee would discuss the criticism raised by veteran V S Achuthanandan against the state leadership.
“The criticism levelled by V S Achuthanandan against the state leadership is baseless. However, the Central Committee that is scheduled to meet on 6th and 7th of June will discuss the matter,” Pillai said.
Pillai said the party Politburo had already rejected Achuthanandan’s allegations adding “there is no division within the party on the matter.”
The CPI-M secretariat meeting had passed a four-page resolution detailing the "indiscipline and anti-party" approach adopted by 92-year-old Achuthanandan since 2011 which had embarrassed the party and said it wanted the senior leader to comply with the party state committee's united decisions.
"This is not a warning or any disciplinary action against Achuthanandan, who is the LDF opposition leader in the state Assembly," CPI-M state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told reporters after the secretariat meeting here.
"The resolution is to remind him to accept party line by correcting himself," he said.
"Party hopes that Achuthanandan will accept the party stand," Balakrishnan said.
