Crime Brach to probe leak of Ambili’s polygraph test report

Thiruvananthapuram: A Crime Branch team will investigate the leak of the report of a polygraph test conducted on Ambili, Kerala Bar Hotel Owners Association Working President Biju Ramesh’s car driver, who deposed before the Vigilance against Finance Minister K M Mani, in connection with the bar bribery case.

An order in this regard was issued by Home Secretary Nalini Netto on Tuesday.

The Crime Branch will also probe into the leak of the details of the Vigilance investigation into the bar bribery case.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala had on Monday sought explanation from the Secretary on the reported leak of the probe details.

The order was given after discussion with the Vigilance director. A special team will be constituted for the investigation soon.

The media had reported the polygraph test conducted on Ambili was positive. Driver Amabili, a key witness in the case, had reportedly told the Vigilance probe team that he drove the car to Mani’s residence with some association people and saw them allegedly handing over bribe money to the Minister.

Finance Minister K M Mani, facing corruption charges in the bar licence scam, had expressed displeasure over the incident while Ramesh Chennithala assured strict action against persons responsible for leaking the report.
