Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V.M Sudheeran is reported to have said at a party meeting that there existed no favourable political circumstance at present for the UDF to come back to power in the state.

“There existed no favourable political circumstance at present for the UDF to return to power again in the state. The Congress workers should strive together to tide over the crisis,” Sudheeran said.

He also made it clear that there was no need to postpone the UDF rallies planned from May 19 to 25. “There was no need to postpone the zonal rallies under the pressure from the constituents,” he said.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said in the meeting that he would not intervene into the ongoing Vigilance probe in the bar bribery case.

The next Assembly election in the state will be held in 2016.
