Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF sub-committee, which was constituted to go into the reasons for the humiliating defeat of Janata Dal (United) leader M P Veerendrakumar from the Palakkad Lok Sabha constituency, Saturday submitted its report to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

The report was submitted to the Chief Minister by chairman of the sub-committee P.P. Thankachan.

The report is understood to have recommended action against four local Congress leaders including Palakkad DCC president responsible for the defeat.

The report has found fault with Palakkad DCC president C.V Balachandran, C. Chandran, P. Balagopal and P.C Baby for lapses in the poll preparation.

Sticking to its stand on the issue, Janata Dal (U) State general secretary Sheikh P. Harris today has said action should be initiated against those who are responsible for the Palakkad defeat.
