Thiruvananthapuram: The daughters of two prominent Communist leaders E.K Nayanar and M.V Raghavan lost to the opposing UDF candidates in the civic polls.

M V Girija, daughter of late LDF Minister M V Raghavan and former Chief Minister E K Nayanar’s daughter Usha Praveen failed to make any impact in the local polls.

Usha stood from the Ravipuram division in Cochin Corporation. She was defeated by her UDF rival Soumini Jain.

Girija who contested from Kannur Corporation lost to her opposing UDF candidate.
