Bar bribery case the reason for poll debacle, says RSP

Thiruvananthapuram: Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) State secretary A A Azeez on Monday said the bar bribery case, in which Finance Minister K M Mani is an accused, was the reason for the debacle the UDF suffered in the local body elections.

“The people in the State are in the opposite side, no matter what K M Mani said. They are in protest. He (Mani) should have taken an appropriate action considering people’s protest,” Azeez told reporters here.

“Kerala is not just Pala. He has the opportunity to come back if he has not done anything wrong.”

“We did not raise any objection till now considering the Front etiquette. But if it goes on like this, the entire UDF will sink soon,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kerala Congress Mani faction came out against Azeez saying he should have raised objections in the UDF.
