Woman commits suicide after killing husband

Malappuram: A woman committed suicide by jumping into a well after allegedly killing her husband at Ponnani in the district on Monday.
Saleena (27) allegedly killed her husband Perumballi Faisal (34), before jumping into a well near their home with her eight-month old child Muhammed Faheem at Athani in Maranchery near Ponnai.
Faisal’s mother alerted the neighbours seeing her jumping into the well. Saleena and the child had drowned by the time the Fire and Rescue officials arrived after being informed by the neighbours.
The neighbours later found Faisal in the couple’s bedroom in a pool of blood with deep injuries in his neck. Although he was rushed to a nearby hospital, the doctors declared him brought-dead.
An expatriate, Faisal had come home on a vacation two weeks back.
The police suspect Saleena was mentally ill.
