The State police arrested Antony Varghese alias Aadu Antony on Tuesday in Palakkad after a massive manhunt across various states and Nepal for the past three years.

Antony, who is wanted in at least 100 cases, was picked up by police from Gopalapuram on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border in the wee hours of Tuesday from a house of one of his many wives.

The accused had been on the run after he stabbed to death Maniyan Pillai, who tried to stop him when he tried to escape after grievously wounding a senior police officer on June 26, 2012.
