Thiruvananthapuram: Terming the decision to campus politics was a blunder, senior Congress leader A.K. Antony on Monday said it paved way for religious and communal organisations to take their roots in campuses.
"Such outfits are attempting to inject communal hatred in the minds of the students at a very young age," Antony said while speaking on the occasion of the state leadership camp of the Kerala Students Union (KSU).
Coming down heavily on self financing college managements, Antony said private sector in education has become a centre of corruption.
The Congress leader said the violation of the agreement signed with the government by self-financing colleges is indecent behaviour. "Those who cannot comply with the provisions in the agreement should not run any institutions," he said.
He added that the bribe levied from new appointees in schools and colleges was being raised every year.
