Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan Monday took a jibe at CITU leader K.P Sahadevan, saying that the latter’s remarks on the Munnar strike was part of their attempt to save their face.
"The trade unions were kept away by the protesters and the CITU leader made the statement as part of their attempt to save their face,” Achuthanandan told reporters.
"His statements are aimed at covering up the shame - the shame of workers keeping them away from the strike," the CPI(M) veteran said.
“The strike by tea plantation workers was a splendid one. Those who ran away from the strike are now coming back with false campaigns, when the agitations turned successful," he said.
