Two killed as trailer truck crashes into crowd

Kochi: Two persons were killed when a trailer truck lost control and crashed into a group of students here on Monday morning.

The truck, carrying cement sacks, lost control and hit a biker and crashed into a group of students before ramming into a roadside kiosk at Seaport Airport road near Infopark here.

One of the students, Niya Jain (19) who was hit by the truck, died on the spot while the biker, Kakkanad resident K K Prathapan (57), succumbed to injuries at a hospital here.

Niya is a first year B.Com student at Rajagiri College, Kakkanad.
