Thiruvananthapuram: The government will hold a meeting with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Principal Advisor E Sreedharan on Thursday over the issue of the Light Metro projects in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday.

Minister for Public Works V. K. Ebrahim Kunju and Aryadan Mohammed, Minister for Power, will join the CM in the meeting.

“The letter sent by Sreedharan was out of some misunderstandings. The government does not face any ambiguity in the project. The procedures followed in the implementation of Kochi Metro are applicable in the case of Light Metro projects too,” Chandy said while briefing the press about the Cabinet decisions.

The Chief Minister added the government would correct if any lapse has been reported from its part.

Chandy expressed sadness over the violent incident reported from the northern districts the day the State celebrated Onam. “The government is trying to normalize the situation and maintain law and order. The political parties should cooperate with the government and abstain from violence,” he said.
