Thrissur: In a major haul, a huge quantity of explosive materials was seized from Peechi in Thrissur on Saturday.
Kerala Police intercepted a lorry, which was carrying the explosives, along the NH 47. Preliminary reports suggested that as much as 1,000 kg of ammunition was being smuggled.
The explosives were hidden beneath farm waste. The lorry was on its way to Thrissur from Palakkad.
Two people have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
