Three RSS activists arrested for vandalising Guru’s statue in Kannur

Kannur: Three RSS activists have been arrested on charge of vandalising a statue of Sree Narayana Guru at Nangarath in Kannur.

RSS workers -- Prasobh, Rigil and Vaisakh -- were arrested on Monday afternoon and later released on bail.

The police had filed cases ten persons in connection with the incident.

The Srimudhra Kala Samskarika Vedi building under the CPI-M at Nangarath was attacked on Sunday afternoon. The attackers also damaged to the statue of Sree Narayana Guru.

Criticizing the police for granting bail to the RSS workers soon after their arrest, CPI-M state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said there was an unholy nexus between the police and the RSS in Kannur.

CPI-M politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan said in a Facebook post that it was a clear indication of the nexus between the police and the RSS.
