Liquor ban is impractical, says Pinarayi VIjayan

Kozhikode: CPI-M politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that the complete liquor ban was an impractical policy.

“Liquor preclusion is the policy of the LDF. Our aim is to bring down the usage of liquor through preclusion. It has been previously proved that a complete liquor ban is an impractical policy,” Vijaya said adding, “Going for the complete ban of liquor will have its own consequences.”

The Marxist leader had earlier said that the Left, if came to power, would reexamine the liquor policy adopted by the UDF.

CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran had also voiced the same concern earlier
