Thachankary sacked as Transport Commissioner

Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet on Friday decided to remove Tomin J. Thachankary from the post of Transport Commissioner.

The decision was made following a complaint from Transport Minister A.K Saseendran. The Minister had reportedly told the Cabinet that Thachankary has been taking unilateral decisions on certain matters.

ADGP S. Ananthakrishnan will be made the new Transport Commissioner.

There has been difference of opinion between Thachankary and Saseendran over the recently introduced ‘No Helmet, No Petrol’ rule. The Minister had said that this reform was introduced without consulting him.

And to follow it up was the birthday celebration that Thachankary held in all RTO offices in the state, by allegedly issuing a circular and distributing sweets.
