Kozhikode: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday said it was not right to put restrictions on media in a democratic system.
He was responding to queries of media persons here on reports of the LDF government’s alleged plan to form a media-policy.
“The restrictions put on the functioning of media during the time of emergency had invited a lot of criticism. Freedom of the press is an important aspect of the democratic system,” said Chandy.
