Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister A K Saseendran has said that disbursal of salary and pension in the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will be delayed in January month due to financial crunch.

“The KSRTC needs time to convince its lenders about loan repayment and this will take time,” Saseendran told reporters.

The minister said that free travel facility for students up to Plus Two schools, introduced during the UDF rule, had generated huge financial liability for the Corporation and the government.

“The move was made without any demand from the students or student unions,” he added.
