Malappuram: The Manjeri Sessions Court on Monday rejected a plea seeking re-postmortem of two Maoists who were killed in an alleged encounter with the police inside the Nilambur forests.

The plea was filed by Sreedharan, brother of Kuppuswami who was killed in the 'encounter'.

The court observed that the autopsy was conducted by experts in Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and there was no need for a re-postmortem.

The court has directed the hospital to hand over the bodies to the relatives of the deceased. The police can take further actions if the relatives refuse to receive the bodies.
