Thiruvananthapuram: State Governor P Sathasivam Monday said he was "deeply saddened" to hear of the health condition of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who suffered a cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Chennai, and prayed for her speedy recovery.

In his message, the governor said: "Deeply saddened by TN CM Selvi J Jayalalithaa suffering cardiac arrest.I pray for her speedy recovery so that people of Tamil Nadu receive her service and blessings."

Jayalalithaa, admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration, and later treated for infection and respiratory problem, is said to be criticial after suffering a cardiac arrest last evening and is under the care of a team of experts.
